Sylvie Sanders
Sylvie's love for painting began at a young age and has only grown stronger over the years. She remembers spending hours in her room as a child, lost in her own little world with a paintbrush in hand. As she grew older, she knew that art was her true passion and pursued it with all her heart.
After completing her Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Graphic Media and Communication, Sylvie began her career as a Graphic Designer in Somerset. For six and a half years, she worked tirelessly, creating designs and illustrations for various products. But deep down, she always knew that her heart belonged to painting.
In 2023, Sylvie made the brave decision to leave her stable job and dedicate herself entirely to her art. She had always dreamt of becoming a full-time artist and this was the perfect opportunity to make that dream a reality. With the support of her family and friends, she took the leap of faith and never looked back.
Nature has always been Sylvie's biggest inspiration. The beauty of the natural world never fails to amaze her and she loves to capture it on her canvas. From the vibrant colours of a sunset to the delicate petals of a flower, Sylvie's paintings are a reflection of the wonders of nature. She also draws inspiration from other artists, particularly the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Van Gogh, and Katsushika Hokusai.
Throughout her career, Sylvie has primarily worked with acrylic paints, but this year, she plans to explore new mediums and techniques through mixed media. She is excited to push her boundaries and develop her skills as an artist. Sylvie often works from her own photographs or royalty-free images, adding her unique touch to each piece.
Over the years, Sylvie has exhibited her work at various local galleries and events, including the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton and the Somerset Art Weeks. She recently became a full member of the Somerset Art Works, an organization that promotes and supports artists in the county. This has opened up new opportunities for Sylvie to showcase her art and connect with other artists.
As Sylvie embarks on this new chapter in her life, she is filled with excitement and determination. She is grateful for the support and encouragement she has received from her loved ones and is ready to take on any challenges that come her way. With her passion for painting and her dedication to constantly improve, Sylvie is set to make a mark in the art world and leave a lasting impression with her beautiful creations.
